Chapter 830  Four Pillars: A New Seed

Just as he was about to begin the process of improving his mana's quality to the stage of 2nd Cleansing, Valyr felt an influx of information fill his mind as he looked at the large blue star revolving in the center of the void.

Of course, this information did not just come out of nowhere.

Instead, while he was looking at the blue star, he felt his mind wander off on a slight tangent as he was recalling the instructions Sellifer gave him earlier.

Eventually, this tangential thought caught his attention, prompting him to put more focus on it as he pushed the thought of improving his mana to the side for the meantime.

Surprisingly, once the tangential thought had clicked in his mind, it was as if multiple thoughts had come rushing into him as he began to understood concepts on mana that eluded him before.

Not long after, this was then supported by an influx of information from who knows where, fortifying the concepts and understandings he had learned in the past while innovating upon them at the same time.

'An Intent Seed, huh,' thought Valyr to himself, inwardly grinning as he gradually began to meet the world's attempt at the middle.

With how Valyr was using Shadow Energy so often in combat, it made sense that the young man would easily obtain an Intent Seed related to it at some point.

It also made sense that the Gates of Enlightenment and Awakening had bolstered his Intent Seed of Shadow Energy to the Second Stage, considering that Shadow Energy was a main staple of his current combat style.

However, before he had obtained his current subclass, before he had gained access to Shadow Energy, there was another form of energy he had often used in combat.

And that energy was none other than mana.

Considering how often he was using magic in the past, Valyr found it weird that he had yet to comprehend an Intent Seed related to the energy.

After all, after he had obtained that nasty curse from having Sana absorb the corpse of that Prodigious Tidemother, he could only use the spear for a short amount of time before beginning to have his strength sapped.

With that, he was left without much choice but to use magic in lieu of his spear, lest he caught himself in a situation where he ended up becoming far weaker than his foes.

Of course, the fact that he had found ways to make use of the spear here and there during combat did reduce the need for him to use mana.

However, it was only when he had gotten his hands on Shadow Energy did he truly throw mana into the back burner, considering it more of an afterthought rather than a choice.

If anything, he only used mana nowadays to empower his stats to greater heights, and not to use it as a main source of damage in his fights.

'I guess that's the reason why it took so long for me to get my hands on an Intent Seed on mana,' thought the young man to himself, even though he knew that the Gates of Enlightenment and Awakening had a part in play to his Intent Seeds as well.

Nevertheless, he did begin to neglect his mana, only beginning to give it more attention after having Sellifer teach him what he needed to do in order to get his hands on Azure Energy.

And so, allowing his comprehension of the concepts revolving around mana to coalesce into a greater form of understanding, Valyr felt the world establish yet another connection with him.

At that moment, he felt as if he had gained access to yet another chunk of the world's power, the boundlessness of it all reminding him of the time he had formed his Intent Seed of Shadow Energy.

However, unlike his Intent Seed of Shadow Energy, this boundlessness came in four flavors, four avenues of power that had deep yet profound ties to the concept of mana itself.

'The four elements,' Valyr inwardly muttered to himself in realization, understanding that these four distinct yet similar feelings corresponded to the four foundational elements.

Coming to that realization, a wry smile appeared on his face, wondering how that would affect his progress in obtaining Azure Energy.

After all, the Intent, and thereby the Force Sellifer comprehended was a Force that was purely focused on mana.

In the end, he thought that the two of them would tackle the problem some other time, considering that the Intent Seed he just comprehended filled one of the requirements he lacked to achieve the Azure Trace in the first place.

With that in mind, he continued to focus his attention on the information he was obtaining regarding mana, making sure to fill every nook and cranny of his mind with it.

Unexpectedly, this action of his had caused his understanding of mana to deepen even further, causing the world to attempt forming a connection with him once more.

Though surprised, Valyr naturally allowed the connection to happen, filling him up with the sensation of boundless power yet again.

Feeling the boundless power and information in his mind gradually fading away, the young man inwardly let out a low sigh as a satisfied smile soon adorned his face.

Deciding to check on his gains from the sudden epiphany, the young man returned his attention to the barren ground, only to find Sellifer looking at him in disbelief.

"Did you…" uttered the woman, still finding the right words to say to what just happened.

Already knowing what she meant by her incomplete question, Valyr merely nodded in response with a slight grin.

Seeing the slightly smug expression on the young man's face, Sellifer took in a deep breath before eventually shaking her head in frustration. "What unbelievable luck…"

Chuckling at her words, Valyr commanded the system to bring up his notifications, allowing him to confirm that what just happened earlier was all true.
